Israel, Egypt, India, Nepal, Tibet... 1998-1999
Well
this here part 2 is my 2nd major trip. A longer 14 month
journey taking me back to the Middle East to visit some
of my favourite places and discover new ones. This time
I lived with a Christian Arab Israeli family in Nazareth.
I worked construction - building gas stations in the hot
sand for a couple months. Also had lots of fun at Ramat
David - the kibbutz volunteer disco on Wednesday nights.
After a brief visit to Egypt I was off to India
for some really interesting adventures. Saw lots of temples.
Met the Dalai Lama in the north. Lots of holy sites. Interesting
place indeed. Spent three weeks in Tibet
and a couple months in Nepal.
The trek
photos are particularity nice and take you from lush green
lowland scenery's at the start to the high altitude baron
Everest area. There was also white water rafting and jungle
safaries in Nepal. Lot's to do there. The Andaman
and Nicobar Islands were a great place in the middle
of nowhere to spend a month. It's there I got certified
for diving. After some time I ran out of money and at
that point headed to London,
with a visit in Egypt (for some diving) and Israel
on the way. In London I worked and saved money for a few
months. I took a week trip to the Netherland's
with Keren, an Israeli I met in India, before heading
back to Canda in spring 1999.
