Fall 2009: Finally we've put up photos from this summer. Also updated the family tree section. I learned that my Higgerty ancestors were actually "Hegarty"s from Mullaghmore Glebe, Agivey, County Derry, Northern Ireland. See photos of the new stone steps in the photos section.
Summer 2009: Watching the tomatoes grow!
Spring 2009 April 27th: Uploaded some photos from our winter escape to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Also some photos of Jordan, Dave and I canoeing on the spring ice. The ice went out on April 20th. The loons were back the week before in a small open area near Round Island. Today was 30oC! New Year 2009 January 10th: Had a lovely Christmas and New Year up at the Cottage. We had friends up and had chile-tatter and walked out on the ice around midnight. A couple neighbours across the lake had fireworks, bonfires, parties. Some of us walked over to check it out. The spooky echoing bass-like wobly-woop sounds that the ice was making freaked the rest out and they stayed in the bay. Vehicles were spotted on the ice, as of January 3 - the first Saturday in the new year. It's cold out there now! We're enjoying winter and counting down the days until we fly to central america.
Fall 2008 September 16th: We've done gone got married and are enjoying a quieter time at the Lake.
Summer 2008 June 29: Got the septic field in, The Grand Hall with hide away washer/dryer, deck. See pictures of these and more, like sunsets and Ed's, in the photos section.
Spring 2008 April 5: The next few days will be double-digit highs and sunny but there is still lots of ice on the lake. The pine floors are complete on the main floor.
We had a nice time in Toronto and at the Cottage Life Show last weekend. That marks the start of spring and a whole new season to look forward to. Check out the photos and the movie of the national dogs dock-jumping competition.
